CURSOS 2022 ABRIL ▼RADIATION PROTECTION DOSIMETRY AND ACCREDITATION OF IMS: SECRETS & SOLUTIONS Fechas: del 20 al 23 de abril de 2022 Lugar: Instituto de Física Nuclear (PAN). Cracovia (Polonia) The Training Course will be organized by the EURADOS WG02 on Harmonization of Individual Monitoring in Europe and IFJ PAN in Kraków. This well-established education and training event is supported by PTB, the general organization is done by Oliver Hupe, PTB. The general topic of the Training Course is the implementa- tion of the European Commission`s Technical Recommenda- tions for Monitoring Individuals Occupationally Exposed to External Radiation (Radiation Protection 160). The general purpose is the implementation of the European Commission Technical Recommendations for Monitoring Individuals Occupationally Exposed to External Radiation (Radiation Protection 160, RP160). All aspects of individual monitoring as discussed in RP160 will be addressed during the course with an emphasis on metrology, quality assurance and type testing. Recent developments will also be covered, including the changes coming with the new version of ISO/ IEC 17025:2017, impact of the EU Directive 2013/59/Euratom and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The course is intended for all stakeholders in individual mon- itoring for external radiation but in particular for junior or trainee managers of approved dosimetry services. Cracovia (Polonia) The Monte Carlo (MC) method is a numerical simulation technique that is widely used to model ionizing radiation transport for dosimetry and radiological protection. A 2nd training course on individual monitoring dosimetry applica- tions of MC simulations is being organized by the European Radiation Dosimetry Group (EURADOS), following its post- ponement from 2020 and the successful first running of the course in Karlsruhe, Germany in March 2018. The course immediately precedes the joint International Conference on Individual Monitoring of Ionising Radiation (IM2022) and Neutron and Ion Dosimetry Symposium (NEU- DOS-14) and is aimed primarily at PhD students and young investigators working in the field of dosimetry of ionizing ra- diation. The course will consist of two days of modules presenting fun- damentals required for computational dosimetry applications for individual monitoring. As well as lectures covering the most important aspects behind dosimetry and personal monitoring, the course will provide hands on training in practical sessions. Although feedback was generally positive after holding the IRPS entirely online in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a follow-up survey among participants and lecturers confirmed that an in-person format is to be prioritised for the organisa- tion of future IRPS editions. Accordingly, the 2022 edition of the IRPS is scheduled to take place in-person in Stockholm from 22-26 August 2022, pursuing the successful cooperation with the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM) and the Centre for Radiation Protection Research (CRPR) of Stockholm University. Programme: The programme of the IRPS-2022, currently being finalised, will be designed to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the international radiological protection system, how it is intended to be interpreted for application in diverse and emerging circumstances and how it is evolving based on new scientific knowledge and lessons learned. The school will be driven by the same spirit of knowl- edge transfer preparing tomorrow's leaders in radiological protection by learning from today's experts as the previous editions. Comprehensive lectures and illustrative interactive case studies will be delivered by renowned experts in the mul- tidisciplinary area of radiological protection.
